Owen Springs, Rainbow Valley and Ewaninga Rock Carvings

We depart Alice Springs and head out along the West MacDonnell Ranges to Owen Springs Reserve, which was one of the first Cattle stations in Central Australia. Explore the ruins of the old homestead and before meandering through Lawrence Gorge for some easy 4wding along the Hugh River.  Making our way to Rainbow Valley for lunch, we have time to take in this breath taking natural formation. From here we make out way through Orange Creek Station and onto the Hugh River Stock Route linking up with the Old South Road. We'll stop at Ewaninga Rock Carvings and marvel at the patterns engraved there thousands of years ago. A stop in at Ooramina Station to get a photo in the movie set, stretch your legs and soak it all in.  We'll continue on to enjoy a bit of local 4wding before stopping in at the Alice Springs Brewery for a cold drink to wash the dust out and conclude the days adventure. You will need to bring your own lunch, snacks and drinking water.

4 Day Gold Rush and Ruby Tour

We head north along the Stuart Highway before turning east to travel along the Gardens Road.  Taking in the distant ranges, we cross the landscape, before enjoying some outback hospitality at Hale River Homestead. This is where we set up camp, enjoy the sunset and the spectacular night sky.  The next morning, we explore the Arltunga ruins from the gold rush days of 1888, and gain an appreciation for just how tough life was.  After lunch we 4wd into Ruby Gap.  This is a real adventure, and the 32klms takes about 2 hrs. Once at Ruby Gap we make camp and enjoy the ambience and colours of this magnificent gorge.  An easy start in the morning, we make our way to Ross River Resort to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the historic old homestead.  In the morning we explore the surrounds including N'Dhala Gorge and the ancient rock carvings within. Lunch at Trephina Gorge, a look at John Hayes Rock Holes and Emily and Jesse Gaps, before returning to Alice Springs. This tour is best undertaken as a camping tour however Camper trailers may be considered. This tour is fully self catered.

4 Day Finke River National Park

If you're after a truly remote experience with high red gorge walls and waterholes. this is the tour for you. As we make our way west, the rising sun behind us, lights up the  MacDonnell ranges.  Our first stop is at the head waters of the Finke River taking in the beautiful Mt Sonder.  continuing on we stop at Tyler Pass and take in Gosse Bluff an huge meteor crater, before making our way inside the crater. After a good look around we make our way to Hermannsberg or Ntaria, and have a look at the Heritage precinct to experience life of days gone bye.  Back to the Finke River it's time to lower our tyre pressures and start the 4wding adventure. A short drive takes us through magnificent scenery to our camp site at Palm Valley.  In the morning we continue further into Palm Valley for some more 4wding, before exploring 1 of the walks and maybe spot some Black footed rock wallabies amongst the dark red walls of Palm Creek.  Then it's back to camp and head to Ellery Creek before joining the Finke River again. we speng the next 2 nights exploring the Finke and enjoying beautiful campsites at Boggy Hole and Running Waters. on the last day we join up with the Ernest Giles track and make our way back to the Stuart Highway and Alice Springs.
A high Clearance 4wd with high and low range is a pre requisite for this tour.  This tour is best undertaken as a camping tour however, off-road camper trailers may be considered. This is a fully self catered tour.

2 Day Ruby Gap and East Mac's

Ruby Gap is said to be one of the most beautiful places in Central Australia and the East Mac's, while not as well known as the West Mac's, have some hidden gems that are not to be missed.  We'll depart Alice and head east in the Ross highway and make our way to Arltunga and have a look at the some of our pioneering history and enjoy lunch before we start the track out to Ruby Gap.  It's a drive where you'll be in awe of the scenery and the timeless ancient landscape.  We'll enter the Hale River and meander our way to our campsite for the night.  As the sun sets and the Gorge walls glow red, we enjoy an evening under the stars in a truly remote location.  After breakfast we head a little further into Ruby Gap to enjoy the beauty and the serenity.  We'll make our way back out to the Ross Highway and explore some of the hidden gems on our way back to Alice.  This is a fully self catered tour and off road camper trailers are welcome.

Palm Valley Day Tour

A day trip to Palm Valley is an adventure not to be missed.  We head west towards Hermannsberg before we drop our tyre pressures and hit the dirt.  You'll be driving down the ancient Finke River bed through towering red walls and amongst beautiful river red gums. Turning into Palm Creek it's not long before we're experiencing a landscape thats hard to believe is real, with large rock formations you'll feel like your in a different time.  The 4wding adventure really begins and it's not long before we're in low range.  We'll have a look at Cycad Gorge before tackling the last part of the track into Palm Valley.  Here we'll walk among the palms and take in the magnificent scenery and ambience of Palm Valley. we make our way back to Picnic area for lunch before we head back out of the Finke River and into Hermannsberg Heritage Precinct and see what life was like in the late 1800's.  A drink and a chance to try the famous apple strudel as well as a look at some of Alber Namatjira's art.  After a good look around it's time to head back into Alice as the sun sets behind us over the West Macdonnell Ranges.
